Everyday Home Stencil Collection Reveal & DIY Faith-Inspired Wood Rounds
When a new stencil collection arrives, my mind immediately starts filling with project ideas. That’s exactly what happened when I opened the new Everyday Home Collection from Essential Stencil. This collection is filled with beautiful designs that work for everyday decorating, gift-giving, and creating meaningful pieces for your home.

One of my favorite things about this collection is its versatility. While some of the stencils are designed for larger rounds and door hangers, they can easily be adapted to smaller surfaces, tags, signs, trays, and other creative projects. The collection includes everything from lace patterns and floral designs to clocks, scripture-inspired phrases, welcoming sentiments, and decorative backgrounds.
For this project, I chose the But First Pray, Be Still, and It Is Well designs and created a set of small wood round hangers. I stained the rounds with Minwax Weathered Oak, which gave them a soft, neutral finish that works beautifully with almost any decorating style. I wanted these pieces to feel calm and subtle, so I selected muted colors from Dixie Bell Paint to keep everything soft and timeless.
The phrase But First Pray feels especially meaningful in a kitchen or gathering space. So much of life happens around the kitchen table, and having a simple reminder to pause and pray can bring encouragement into everyday moments. I can easily picture this hanging beside a favorite cookbook, a small vase of flowers, or near a coffee station.
The Be Still and It Is Well rounds were designed as companion pieces. I wanted them to coordinate while still standing beautifully on their own. Both serve as gentle reminders to slow down, trust the Lord, and remember that He is present in every season. These would make thoughtful gifts for a friend, caregiver, teacher, or anyone who could use a little encouragement.
To add extra interest, I used small floral and autumn transfer elements on the reverse sides of the rounds. Layering transfers with stencils is one of my favorite ways to create unique pieces. Even the small leftover transfer pieces can become beautiful accents when thoughtfully placed around a design.
